Solange has shared a full extended director's cut of her film When I Get Home. The director's cut had previously premiered at museums, and now, it's up on YouTube. Watch it below. Solange also appeared as a guest on last night's episode of The Daily Show With Trevor Noah for a rare televised interview. When asked about her approach to creating the album, Solange responded, "I think so much of my work is about world making. " She discussed how she tries to "create cities on stage" and talks about wanting to "create work that I wanted to see when I was a girl. " She also talked the importance of reflecting the American experience through black cowboys. She also discussed the influence of the black women who visited her mother's hair salon, a church camp she attended when she was young, and Kelis. Beyoncé interviewed her little sister, Solange Knowles, about "womanism, " growing up in Houston, Solange's critically acclaimed album A Seat at the Table and their strong bond in the February 2017 issue of Interview magazine. Shortly before the conversation was published online, the "Cranes in the Sky" singer, 30, shared a sweet message to Queen Bey, 35, on Instagram. "After interviewing my mother [ Tina Knowles] and father [ Matthew Knowles] for A Seat At The Table, it feels like full circle to have chosen my sister to interview me for @InterviewMag, " she wrote. "Spoke about womanism, growing up in a hair salon, and choosing between 'I could fall in love' and 'No Me Queda Mas'. It is one of my favorites to date. If she conjured up an idea, there was not one element of that idea that she was not going to have her hand in. She was not going to hand that over to someone. And I think it's been an interesting thing to navigate, especially watching you do the same in all aspects of your work: Society labels that a control freak, an obsessive woman, or someone who has an inability to trust her team or to empower other people to do the work, which is completely untrue. There's no way to succeed without having a team and all of the moving parts that help bring it into life. But I do have–and I'm unafraid to say it–a very distinctive, clear vision of how I want to present myself and my body and my voice and my perspective. Solange wrote a song about the real estate boom in Miami Beyonce asked her sister where the title for one of her tracks, "Cranes in the Sky, " came from.
"I broke out in some hives when I went to her concert, " Solange explained. "Alan was like, 'Uh, you're breaking out into hives. Calm down. '" 5. Beyonce did a "kicka– job" of being Solange's sister "You did a kicka– job, " she told Beyonce. "You were the most patient, loving, wonderful sister ever. In the 30 years that we've been together, I think we've only really, like, butted heads … we can count on one hand. " 6. Solange is a multi-tasker When asking her sister where her inspiration comes from, Beyonce prefaced, "You write your own lyrics, you co-produce your own tracks, you write your own treatments for your videos, you stage all of your performances, all of the choreography. " Solange responded that she gets a lot of her inspiration from society's labels and from her sister. "Growing up in a household with a master class such as yourself definitely didn't hurt, " she said. "And, as far back as I can remember, our mother always taught us to be in control of our voice and our bodies and our work, and she showed us that through her example.

But really, I love eating out. Some of my favorite new spots in the neighborhood are Buttermilk Channel and Frankies [457 Spuntino]. I've definitely packed on the pounds since moving here. Where are some of your favorite places to shop? Opening Ceremony is my number one favorite place to shop here. It's the only place I'll shop in New York with my son. All of the sales people are so cool; the music is great; it's just like a big fun house, so he stays entertained. I like the Barneys [co-op] in Brooklyn because it's very laid-back and chill; there's not as much hustle and bustle as the one in the city. Aside from that, I literally buy everything online. Once I had my son, I stopped shopping in stores because it's not an easy process to try on clothes—and I'm not an impulsive buyer. I need to do the dance in front of the mirror, the whole nine yards. What's your favorite place to shop online? I love Net-a-Porter (), but it's a gift and a curse. Living in New York has made [the site] that much more dangerous because I have my settings set to New York Premier, which means [purchases] come the same day.
